For the local Japanese culture festival held a while back, I prepared these tiny yokai 3" x 3" cards inspired in the Rimpa School of Painting. Instead of using the traditional gold leaf and lacquers, I used golden acrylic, gouache and white ink.

Clockwise order: Kitsune (fox), Bakeneko (cat), Tanuki (raccoon dog) and Biwa-bokuboku (a possessed Japanese lute).
